Minor Cosmetic Surgical Procedures
Head & Neck Skin Lesions

Dr. Hong offers minor cosmetic surgical procedures to address unwanted skin lesions of the head, face and neck. Treatments are relatively quick, downtime is minimal, and the results are highly rewarding.

Some of the common benign conditions addressed include:

  • Skin cysts
  • Skin tags
  • Moles
  • Lipomas
  • Dermatofibromas
  • Seborrheic keratosis
  • Eyelid xanthelasmas

Dr. Hong usually performs minor surgical procedures at Humber River Hospital’s Surgical Outpatient Clinic, conveniently located on the 4th floor by the East Outpatient Elevators. Dr. Hong will carefully examine your unwanted lesions to plan the best way to remove it and all lesions will be sent off for pathology analysis following their removal. Dr. Hong strives for minimal scarring and optimal cosmetic results for each and every case.

Note: Since benign skin lesions are harmless and removal is for cosmetic reasons, this service is generally NOT covered by OHIP.

Head & Neck Skin Cancer

Dr. Hong’s practice is also focused on cutaneous oncology and facial reconstruction. Skin cancer now represents the commonest form of cancer with rates increasing every year and Dr. Hong offers surgical excision and reconstruction of these cancerous growths usually under local anesthesia or less commonly in the operating room under general anesthesia. Surgery is currently the commonest and usually the most effective way of treating skin cancers with a cure rate of 90-95% for primary skin cancers, and 75-85% for recurrent cancers for local excision.
